PSYCHO-EDUCATIONAL & PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING

Reasons for Testing

An individualized, comprehensive evaluation aims to provide children, parents and teachers with an understanding of a child’s personal learning style. Each evaluation is individualized to meet the specific needs of the child with the goal of identifying a child’s optimal learning profile and those interventions that will best support personal success.

Testing is used to pinpoint areas of strength and concern that impact not only academic skills, but social and emotional development as well. School is a vital part of development and when students struggle with learning, other areas of their lives may be impacted as well. Children with unidentified learning difficulties may be at risk for academic failure, as well as emotional stress around their performance. Similarly, a child’s behavioral, emotional, or social concerns may be interfering with their ability to learn at their full potential. The use of standardized measures and clinical interpretation is a vital part of recognizing those factors that your child may be struggling with and, thus, where they could most benefit from support.

Most importantly, my goal is to help child and their families to understand strengths, as well as concerns, in order to empower children and families to better advocate for and collaborate with educators and specialists to establish those supports that could best lead to success and positive learning experiences.
